Great Lakes Recovery Centers (GLRC) is delighted to announce its first online art auction – Artists with a Purpose. Highly talented employees from twelve different GLRC programs, in six different geographic locations on the Upper Peninsula, donated artwork they created to be auctioned off to raise funds for GLRC programming .
“GLRC staff are so talented,” said Amy Poirier, Director of Community Relations and Marketing. “After a few staff came forward asking to donate some of their art to raise money for the GLRC, we decided to open it up to all staff and see what happens. We were overwhelmed with the response. Not only did we receive way more artwork than expected, but the quality of the artwork is phenomenal, especially since all of the artists have professional careers in a behavioral health organization.
Fifty-six different works of art were submitted for auction, including paintings, jewelry, crochet, illustration, baking, mixed media, photography, pour paint, stained glass , occult poetry and glass sculpture. Individuals can view the items and bid at www.auctria.events/GLRCArtAuction. The auction will be open until May 31. For more information about GLRC, visit www.greatlakesrecovery.org.
