The Derby County manager, 36, parked his Overfinch Defender in an area believed to be intended for church bell ringers, with the former professional footballer “refusing travel requests” from Christmas market organizers.

Disgruntled residents retaliated by leaving giant genitals in the dirt on the hood and sides of the vehicle, which was left within a mile of Rooney’s £ 6million house.

The 36-year-old saw his Derby side win 1-0 against Blackpool on Saturday afternoon.

His team are at the bottom of the championship table and 17 points from safety – due to their 21 point deduction.
